This morning's Diamond Head Sunrise Hike

It was a perfect morning for a nice hike up Diamond Head. The trades were blowing slightly, just enough to rid the crater of the humidity. There were just enough clouds off in the distance for a beautiful sunrise.

We got up to the Diamond Head gate at 5:25am, the first car in line. The moon was just setting over the crater.

At the first lookout point about two thirds the way up the trail, the Sun hadn't peeked over Koko Head yet but the sky was already bright.

At the second lookout, just before the 99 steps you can see the sky lighting up now. The Sun breaking the horizon, but still hidden behind the clouds.

Finally at the top of the Diamond Head trail and the Sun just stretching over the clouds. What a beautiful morning!
