Summer School

Summer school registration is open. Ashley will be taking 3 courses this summer. She signed up for P.E., Bible, and PSAT/SAT Prep. $1080. :(

P.E. and Bible are required courses that she wants to get out of the way during regular school so she's taking it during summer. Extra money that we really don't have to pay because these classes would be covered in the regular tuition...but. And PSAT Prep. Basically a study session for the PSATs next fall.

Drinks w/Jerald @ D&B

Jerald was in town from Seattle so we met for drinks last night. Started out at Don Ho's at Aloha Tower then ended up at Dave & Busters at Ward. It's hard to take self portraits after you've had 6 beers.

Solo / Ensemble

It was an early day for me and Ashley. Off to the University of Hawaii Music Department to participate in the OBDA Solo/Ensemble competition. Ashley had a solo in the morning and a duet with Kira in the afternoon. In between we watched other students perform. It was a long but interesting day.

Happy Valentine's Day

Today is Valentine's Day and it is also the 4th Annual Liholiho Family Fun Fair. Iris has been hard at work the past couple of months getting ready for today. Ashley will be volunteering in the morning. I'm stepping back and not volunteering my time this year since I've been sick this week.

This afternoon, Ashley has a final tune up for the OBDA Solo/Ensemble competition tomorrow.

Into the Pit once again

Pit rehearsals for Pippin begin today. Ashley is once again playing in the pit orchestra for the Spring musical, "Pippin". Starting next week they'll have two weeks of rehearsal followed by 4 shows, February 25th - 28th.

Scheduling Requirements Meeting

Went to the Scheduling Requirements meeting for juniors last night. Wow, a lot to think about. Looks like Ashley will probably be going into Precalculus, Physics and also taking AP Latin. She wants to also take AP US History but I'm not sure she can handle the load. She needs to get approvals from her counselor and department heads and they may not let her since she will also be in marching band. PE, and English will round out her schedule. Junior year is going to be tough.
