Solo Flute Performance

Ashley participated in the OBDA Solo/Ensemble Competition yesterday. Here's her performance.

Piccolo

In between helping at the Liholiho Fun Fair, I took Ashley down to Music Center of Hawaii to pick up a piccolo. Yes, she got her very own Yamaha piccolo. It's a professional model made out of Grenadilla wood. MCH was selling it for $1695 but I got them to come down in price because I found the same model being sold on ebay for $1299. They came down to $1450 which I thought was fair. Wanting to buy local, I was willing to pay more for that option.

Liholiho Fun Fair

Liholiho School had their 3rd annual Fun Fair yesterday. Iris has been spending a lot of time on coordinating the manpower for the fair. It was a great success with a lot of the community coming out to support the school. This year the fair included a petting zoo and pony rides. Ashley and I spent most of the day there helping with odds and ends. It was a nice day, sunny but not too hot. Everyone was a little worried leading up to the fair because of all the rainy weather we've been having the past few weeks. But it turned out to be a good day.
